Important Information for Domestic Customers
The UK’s fridge recycling network is currently under severe pressure, with specialist treatment plant closures and reduced capacity—particularly across England—making compliant disposal routes increasingly difficult and expensive to secure.
Unfortunately, we cannot currently accept single fridges or freezers from domestic customers. Where we can source a fully licensed disposal route for commercial clients, the combined collection, transport and specialist treatment costs will be expensive. Domestic customers should contact their local council, use a household recycling centre, or ask their appliance retailer about taking away the old unit when delivering a replacement.
Fridges require specialist treatment because refrigerant gases and other potentially hazardous materials must be safely recovered and processed. Current industry reports confirm shrinking treatment capacity, collection delays and rising prices.
